SALARY:  $30.11– $35.98/hr. **Inclusive of Recruitment Stipends and Direct Care

Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) is a 51 bed psychiatric hospital serving the State’s geographic area that provides services for people with severe mental illness.  As a member of a state wide community of care givers, DDPC collaborates with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and their community and personal supports to provide recovery oriented, respectful, compassionate, and effective psychiatric care and treatment in the last restrictive, safest, and most therapeutic environment we can create.

 

Job description: 

A Staff Nurse – Hospital Nurse II is the second level of professional nursing work involving the care and treatment of patients who are mentally, emotionally or physically ill.  Responsibilities include overseeing and providing medical and/or psychiatric nursing care in the hospital.  Supervision may be exercised over hospital paraprofessional personnel and/or other assigned personnel as a group leader.  Work is performed under limited supervision.

 

Requirements:  

A Bachelors Degree in Nursing or related field -OR- graduation from an accredited school of nursing plus one (1) year of professional nursing experience.

 

Licensing Requirement:

A license as a Registered Nurse as issued by the Maine State Board of Nursing.

Level 4: 85% State Contribution = $377.98 biweekly (Employee pays: 15%)
