Awake Overnight shifts are typically from 11:00PM-7:00AM, but we also have some ‘extended hour’ shifts from 9:00PM-7:00AM, and you will work as part of a team responsible for providing support for adult consumers, who have Intellectual, Physical and Mental Health disabilities and Autism during the overnight hours. You must always be able to remain awake and alert during the scheduled work hours to ensure consumer(s) care and safety are your first priority, and assist with any mobility, health or emergency issues which may arise. Ensure you are well-rested during the day prior to working an Awake Overnight shift, so you are able to be awake and alert during entire overnight shift. Through visual observation, you must be able to accurately and thoroughly document by hand any interaction with the adult consumer(s) which may occur during the overnight hours to communicate the issue to other team members. Assist consumer(s) with personal health or hygiene issues such as toileting or incontinence, to ensure their bedding and clothing are clean and laundered promptly; re-prioritize other duties to prevent health or hygiene issues from waiting until morning. Perform a variety of light housekeeping duties such as doing laundry, mopping and sweeping floors and cleaning bathroom before the end of the Awake Overnight shift.
You will have the same Awake Overnight work schedule every week while providing support to one or two of our consumers. Background experience working with people with Intellectual, Physical and Mental Health disabilities & Autism is preferred. Must be willing to monitor and support the consumer's safety and care and follow recommendations and goals of their PCP (Person Centered Plan).
