  • Provide leadership and supervision while managing assigned second shift electrical design personnel for design development
  • Establish work scopes, and define work estimates, while evaluating manning requirements and schedules
  • Act as the primary point of contact as needed for second shift Electrical design scope of work
  • Manage, prioritize and evaluate workload requirements to ensure tasks are accomplished with established schedules and budget
  • Persistently validate that all technical issues are resolved promptly and diligently to ensure team’s success
  • Work closely and interface with engineering, other design disciplines, configuration management, planning and production to ensure all customer requirements are met
  • Provide guidance and direction to ensure that the team is following Processes and Policies as set forth by management
  • Ensure tasks are completed with the required level of quality as specified in the contract
  • Provide project and progress analysis on cost, schedule using EVMS principles
  • Participate in group discussions and report progress, concerns, and status at meetings
  • Lead efforts for continuous employee development, and quality improvement initiatives by implementation of processes and procedures

Required/Preferred Education/Training

BS or AS degree in a Design/Engineering with 3 years' experience in a Design/ Engineering related field, or a graduate of BIW's Apprenticeship Program with 3 years' experience in a marine Engineering/Design/Manufacturing related field; or a minimum of 5 years' experience in a marine Engineering/Design/Manufacturing related field required.

Required/Preferred Experience


3 years of demonstrated team experience that produced a complex technical product

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including conflict resolution techniques

Project management skills with a strong focus on "Earned Value Management"

Strong computer skills with focus on Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel


2 years of management/supervisory related experience in a represented workforce environment

Demonstrated ability to review and understand design and drawings across multiple disciplines

Experience administering the BMDA contract
