OVERVIEW                                                                                                                             

The application development team within the Maine Office of Information Technology is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience in Java, Java Server Pages, Tomcat, Oracle, and Red Hat Linux. 

The selected candidate will have an opportunity to work with our team supporting the Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Agency.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Your job as a senior developer will be to work within the team responsible for continuing to make Maine’s outdoor sporting activities more available to the public. You will use your skills as a JAVA developer to help modernize the MOSES application while continuing to expand its ability to serve the public and public agents. You will work closely with your peer developers and the IF&W Agency to provide timely support and innovative solutions to a wide variety of business needs.

 

WHAT WE EXPECT?

Applicants must be comfortable working directly with the end-user community to capture, refine and verify business requirements related to their assigned projects.  They must be able to accomplish tasks in a timely manner with limited supervision.  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

To qualify, you must have five (5) years of computer programming experience utilizing higher level languages including two (2) years at the Programmer Analyst level or equivalent. A Masters’ Degree in Computer Science may be substituted for one (1) year of programming experience.   

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in any of the following: PL/SQL, Perl, Oracle, FTP Tools, Jasper Reports, ANT, XML, SOAP, Tomcat, Red Hat integration and Web Services.

SALARY:   CLASS CODE: 0866             PAY GRADE: 27 – $53,726.40 - $72,924.80 annually*

*Includes a 15% recruitment and retention salary adjustment and eligibility for a 5% annual training bonus.

 

BENEFITS:

The value of State’s share of Employee’s Retirement:  15.37% of salary for BU positions.  The value of State-paid Dental Insurance:  $13.13 biweekly. The value* of State-paid Health Insurance: 

  • Level 1: 100% State Contribution (employee pays nothing):   $444.68 biweekly
  • Level 2: 95% State Contribution (employee pays 5%):             $422.45 biweekly
  • Level 3: 90% State Contribution (employee pays 10%):           $400.21 biweekly
  • Level 4: 85% State Contribution (employee pays 15%):           $377.98 biweekly 

*The level of the actual value of state paid Health Insurance will be based on the employee’s wage rate and status with regard to the health credit premium program.
