The Registered Nurse works in collaboration with all members of the care team providing high quality compassionate care consistent with Mercy's Mission and Values. Coordinates delivery of services to assure the highest quality of care with efficient use of available services and resources. The Nurse provides excellent and appropriate external and internal customer service in a timely manner resulting in improved patient care, satisfaction, and provider efficiency (availability/appt. access). This nurse will perform independent assessment, provide patient education and demonstrate initiative and creative problem solving to address patient concerns. This position will demand flexibility, creativity and communication between many disciplines to ensure continuity of patient care. The incumbent is responsible for the practice of nursing according to the Rules and Regulations defined in the State of Maine Nurse Practice Act, and MPCC policies and procedures. The incumbent performs duties and tasks in accordance with standards established for the job. The incumbent may have access to highly confidential patient, employee and/or Mercy proprietary information, and must handle & protect the information in accordance with hospital & system policies, HIPAA requirements and the highest level of ethical standards. The incumbent is responsible for reporting all security events, potential events, or other security risks to the organization. The incumbent is responsible for participation in and completion of all patient safety initiatives appropriate to the position, and conducts all job responsibilities according to the Mission and Values of Mercy Hospital.
Current Registered Nurse license in State of Maine is required.
BLS for Healthcare professionals certification is required. Completion of Registered Nurse program required. RN, BSN preferred; ADN considered. 2-5 years' experience preferred. Prior experience in a physician's office or ambulatory setting preferred. In addition, the incumbent will have knowledge of medical terminology and will be computer literate. Must possess communication skills that provides timely, concise, and audience appropriate information orally and/in writing. Initiative that proactively focuses efforts and energy on successfully attaining goals and objectives. Work habits and productivity able to maximize time to produce timely, quality results. Teamwork and Relationship with others that allows collaboration with a variety of individuals by establishing and maintaining constructive relationships. Customer focus that demonstrates commitment to meeting and exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers.
