This position will perform a wide variety of tasks, and is expected to develop a comprehensive understanding of the various financial flows within the company. Primary tasks include developing and/or improving accounting business system compliance processes and procedures, supporting finance and accounting audits, supporting our travel and expense process, and documenting, performing, and/or reviewing financial reconciliations. Moderate overtime with occasional high levels is expected. This position will report to the Manager of Accounting and will interface with all levels of BIW personnel, and both Government and internal auditors.
Position requires an undergraduate degree in business, preferably in finance or accounting. Advanced degrees or certifications (MBA, CPA, CMA) are preferred. Strong personal computer skills are required, specifically including Microsoft Office applications. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical.
Five plus years of finance related experience, preferably in a large corporate environment. Previous experience working for a DoD contractor is beneficial.
Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems is beneficial, as is experience using Concur Travel and/or Concur Expense.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
Ability to effectively communicate and work with all levels of BIW management and employees, including Finance, IT, and Procurement.
